We’ve come a long way since David Young decided to sell chilled chips to the fast food market…
1992
David Young starts selling chilled chips to the fast food/takeaway markets, using his father’s Fish & Chip shop as his storage base.
1997
The business is registered as a Limited Company, and expands into a new warehouse, with cold storage, enabling further growth.
1999
David buys a new warehousing facility on Scarborough Street, in Hull, as the business continues to grow.
2002
Young’s sales grow rapidly, as the company becomes one of the largest sales agents in the UK for Lord Chilled Chips.
2007
Young’s acquires Riding Foods. This acquisition brings new and improved warehousing facilities in Subway Street Hull.
2010
David’s son Scott starts working in the business, as his father teaches him the ropes from a young age.
2012
The business is rebranded as Young’s Foods LTD. The company invests in a new fleet of Mercedes Sprinter vans.
2017
Five years of growth see Young’s Foods Ltd join the Fairway buying consortium, increasing the company’s buying power and access to most foodservice products available on the market.
Young’s also invests in a new 120-pallet freezer to help with the forecasted growth that being part of this established group of companies in the UK and Europe is set to bring.
2018
A new Young’s Foods website is constructed and the company’s first product brochure is launched to the market.
2022
Young’s releases its latest product guide and installs a new computer system to establish a reliable online ordering system, The company also purchases three new vehicles.
2023
Young’s purchased another food wholesale company in the area called Wold Fayre, doubling their customer list overnight. Since then, both companies have grown and continue to service new and existing customers with the same consistent quality standard.
2024
A brand new app and online ordering system was developed by the market leader in this sector, giving customers a more choice on the way they place their order.
